Terms of Service

These Terms of Service and the other documents referred to in them, as updated from time to time, apply to your use of the Services. In this context, the term “Services” refers to all digital activities, such as websites (including Olympics.com), mobile applications, connected television applications, newsletters, registration systems, online professional services and other business sources operated by the UAE Electronic Sports Federation (UAE). "IOC") on its own or in association with other members of the Olympic Movement, including the Olympic Foundation for Culture and Heritage (the "Foundation").

Specific rules and additional terms (“Additional Terms”) may apply due to the nature and purpose of the Services. This is the case, for example, for certain online professional services and business resources (“B2B Services”) or reporting mechanisms operated by the UAE Esports Federation. In such cases, you will be alerted to these Special Terms before you use the applicable Services, and if there is any conflict or inconsistency between these Special Terms and the Terms of Service, the Special Terms shall prevail.

For simplicity, we hereafter refer to the Terms of Service and any Additional Terms together as the “Terms”.

who are we?

When we refer to “we”, “our”, or “our” in the Terms of Service, we are referring to the UAE Electronic Sports Federation, and, if applicable, to the Foundation.

When we refer to you as a separate or relative pronoun, we are referring to you as a user of the Services.

The Emirates Electronic Sports Federation is a private, non-profit international organization recognized by the Swiss authorities as a public interest. It was established in the form of a Swiss legal association, and its registered office is located at Maison Olympique (Olympic House), 1007 Lausanne, Switzerland. The mission of the UAE Electronic Sports Federation is to spread the Olympic spirit around the world, lead the Olympic movement, and ensure the regular holding of the Olympic Games festival.

The UAE Electronic Sports Federation established the Foundation to promote the Olympic spirit in the areas of culture, heritage and education, and it runs the Olympic Museum and the Olympic Studies Center in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Why should I read the Terms of Service?

Our Terms are intended to inform you on what terms you may use the Services and access, use, view and otherwise share UAE Esports Federation Content (as defined below). By accessing and using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO THESE TERMS, DO NOT USE THE SERVICES.

Please note that if you access UAE Esports Federation Content (as defined below) through services operated by third parties, such as social media services, additional terms issued by those third parties may also apply.

We reserve the right to modify the Terms at any time. When we make changes, we will revise the “Last Updated” date at the bottom of the Terms, and any such modification will become effective immediately upon posting. When we make changes to the Terms, we will provide you with adequate information in advance when such changes affect your rights as a user of the Services or where required by law. However, your continued use of the Services following the posting of modifications will constitute your acceptance of those modifications. We encourage you to review the applicable version of the Terms each time you use the Services.

1. What can you benefit from the services?

1.1 - The content of the Emirates Electronic Sports Federation

In the Terms, "UAE Esports Federation Content" refers to any audiovisual or other content, information or materials accessible through the Services, such as text, illustrations, artwork, graphics, data, moving and still images or sounds, music or software. It, i.e. the 'UAE E-Sports Federation Content', is protected by copyrights, trademarks, or other proprietary rights and laws. All rights, including all intellectual property rights, or other proprietary rights in the Services and Content of the Emirates Electronic Sports Federation except for Your Content (as defined below), are owned by the IOC and/or Foundation, or are licensed to us by their respective rights holders. All rights not expressly granted to you in these Terms are reserved.

Emirates Esports Federation Content may vary depending on the geographic location, the device from which you access the Services, or whether or not you have created an account as a user.

2.1 - Your Content

Through the Services, you may be given the ability to provide feedback and interact with other users, in the form of comments or other forms of content (“Your Content”).

All ownership rights to Your Content are yours and you are solely responsible for it. However, by making Your Content available to us, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, transferable license (with the right to sublicense) to use, reproduce, display, distribute, make available, and prepare derivative works from Your Content, in whole or in part, in any way Media format and through any media now known or supposed to become known in relation to the Emirates Electronic Sports Federation and the Foundation and promotion of the Olympic Movement. You also grant each user of the Services a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to access and use Your Content through the Services in accordance with these Terms. All licenses you grant to us and users shall continue indefinitely, unless you request withdrawal of Your Content from the Services.

2. Who can use the Services?

The Services are directed at users 13 years of age (and over) who are of legal age under the law of their country of residence.

Most of our services are available to the general public, but access to and benefit from some services may be limited by company to company to those who cooperate with the Emirates Electronic Sports Federation or with the Foundation, consultants, stakeholders of the Olympic Movement and other authorized third parties.

Your use of the Services is at your own risk and you are responsible for the compliance of such use with the laws of your country of residence or use.

We reserve the right to terminate your access to the Services and your user account at our discretion, particularly if we believe that you are not complying with the Terms.

3. How do you use the Services?

We will grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to use the Services and EFSA Content for informational purposes only, subject to any other terms in any Additional Terms, provided that you comply with the Terms. Service', in particular the following terms:

a) The Services may not be used for advertising purposes, or in any way that suggests an association between a third party, third party product and services, and the UAE Electronic Sports Federation, Olympic Organization or Movement without our prior written permission.

b) Through the available functionality, you may share Emirates Esports Federation Content for personal, non-commercial purposes only and in a manner otherwise consistent with these Terms.

c) You may not upload or post through the Services any comment or other content that is unlawful, defamatory, violent, obscene, racist, discriminatory against any third party or otherwise contrary to the Olympic Values.

d) You may not use or attempt to use the Services or UAE Esports Federation Content to commit any illegal act or to defame, harass, insult or impersonate other users or third parties.

e) Except as expressly set forth in these Terms, you may not copy, archive, download, reproduce, modify, publish, publicly make available, or otherwise make available the Services or any content of the Emirates Electronic Sports Federation without our prior written permission.

You may not transfer, assign or sublicense to any third party any rights or licenses granted to you under the Terms; However, we may transfer our rights and duties to others without restriction or condition.

g) You may not change, modify or circumvent any component of the Services or attempt to do so or encourage or assist any other person to do so.

You may not operate any automated system whose purpose or effect is to damage the Services, including but not limited to "robots", "spiders", "offline readers", and "viruses". worms, and Trojan horses.

i) You shall not collect any personal information about other Users or third parties from or use the Services nor use the Services for any commercial promotional purposes.

j) You may not facilitate or encourage any breach of the Terms by third parties.

4. How do you create a user account?

A user account is not generally required to access and use the Services and Emirates Esports Federation Content, but certain features and functionality of the Services and some Emirates Esports Federation Content may only be available to registered users with us who have created a user account with us. For certain Services, the creation of a User Account may be subject to additional terms or reserved by the International Olympic Committee, UAE Esports Federation collaborators or with the Foundation, consultants, stakeholders of the Olympic Movement and other authorized third parties.

You can create a user account by signing up with us through the Services. Registration requires you to provide us with certain information about yourself.

All information you provide during the registration process must be accurate and complete. You are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the information provided, for maintaining the confidentiality of your user name and password, and for all activity that occurs under your account.

Upon registration, we will ask you to confirm that you agree to the Terms, and that you have read and understood our Privacy Policy.

5. What information do we collect about you and how do we use it?

We will collect certain information about you when you access the Services and when you create a user account with us. Availability of the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy

6. What else should you know?

6.1 You agree to the following:

a) We (including our officers, directors, employees, agents, affiliates and subcontractors) disclaim all liability for loss or damage arising from any unauthorized use of your user account, and it is your responsibility to immediately notify the UAE Esports Federation of any breach of security or unauthorized use authorized for your user account;

b) despite our efforts to provide accurate information and to prevent interruptions caused by technical issues, the Services may contain technical errors, inaccuracies or typographical errors, or be temporarily unavailable to you and we cannot be held responsible for such incidents;

c) Your use of the Services requires one or more compatible devices, Internet access, and certain hardware and software and may require updates or upgrades from time to time. You acknowledge that your ability to use the Services may be affected by the performance of such material and that you are responsible for meeting system requirements and that costs incurred from using them, including internet fees or data service providers' fees, are yours.

d) THE SERVICES, INCLUDING ALL CONTENT OF THE EMIRATES ESPORTS FEDERATION, ARE PROVIDED TO YOU ON AN "AS IS" AND TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE (INCLUDING OUR OFFICIALS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AFFILIATES AND SUBCONTRACTORS) DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES express or implied in connection with the Services, UAE Esports Federation Content (including any link to any third party websites and any service or product offering made by third parties) and your use thereof. These warranties, which we disclaim, include warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose;

e) We reserve the right to modify, improve, update, suspend or terminate any functionality of the Services or any content of the Emirates Electronic Sports Federation, at our discretion and without notice;

f) unless expressly stated otherwise, links provided on the Service to any third-party websites or services, or to offerings of third-party products or services, should not be construed as a recommendation or endorsement by us; And the

g) Although we will make every effort to respond to any questions put to us or requests made to us through the Services in a timely manner, we do not guarantee any specific length of time, and we reserve the right to decline to respond to any communication that does not comply with the Terms.

6.2 We (including our officers, directors, employees, agents, affiliates and subcontractors) shall not be liable to you or third parties, to the fullest extent permitted by law, for any kind of damages arising in connection with:

a) Your access or use of the Services and any content of the Emirates Electronic Sports Federation or websites linked to the Services;

b) any unauthorized access to or use of our servers and any or both personal information or other information stored therein;

c) any errors or inaccuracies in the Content;

d) any delay, interruption, failure, poor quality or limitation of any kind in transmissions from the Services or in the provision or performance of services offered through the Services; And the

e) any bugs, viruses or the like that may be transmitted to or through the Service by any third party.

6.3 You agree to indemnify, indemnify and hold harmless the Emirates Electronic Sports Federation and the Corporation (including its officers, directors, employees, agents, affiliates and subcontractors) from any claims, liabilities, losses, damages and costs (including legal fees) arising in connection with your breach of these Terms. and that such protection and indemnification shall survive the termination of the Terms and your use of the Services. You also agree that the IOC and the Foundation may jointly or separately enforce any rights or protections granted to them under these Terms against you.

6.4 No action by us, other than a written waiver or modification, shall be construed as a waiver or modification of these Terms. If any provision of these Terms is found to be void or void, the remainder of these Terms will remain valid and enforceable to the fullest extent possible under applicable law.
